Nail Clipping
A good rule is to trim your dog's nails once a month. Dogs who run or walk a lot on pavement may need their nails cut less than that (apart from their dewclaws), while dogs who spend most of their time inside or on the grass may require nail trimming every couple of weeks.
Letting your dog's nails get too long isn't just a temporary problem—the quick, aka the vein inside your dog's nail, can grow longer, meaning you can't trim your dog's nails as short next time.
Dental Service/ Teeth Cleaning
Some dogs are more susceptible to plaque growth than others. Until recently the only solution to plaque build up has been a trip to the vets, with a general anaesthetic
with a high possibility of extractions in the worst cases.
At Grand Union Pets we use an Emmi pet toothbrush for our teeth cleaning. This ultrasonic toothbrush gently dissolves the plaque on your dog's teeth. This technique is vibration-free and no actual brushing or scrubbing is necessary, making this a stress free experience for your dog as it is simple and non-invasive. You will notice that it improves your dog's whole oral health, from their breath and gums to the tartar build-up on their teeth.
